Ghost Mode for Google Chat
Last Updated: July 08, 2025
Thank you for using "Ghost Mode for Google Chat" (the "Extension"). Your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy is intended to be as simple and transparent as possible to explain what data the Extension does—and, more importantly, does not—collect.
"Ghost Mode for Google Chat" is designed from the ground up to be a privacy-first utility. Our fundamental principle is to not collect, store, track, or transmit any of your personal information or data.
To be perfectly clear, the Extension DOES NOT under any circumstances:
The Extension functions by using the Chrome declarativeNetRequest API. This API allows it to instruct your browser to block very specific network requests sent to Google's servers. These are the requests responsible for updating your "seen" status and "typing" indicator.
This method is inherently private because the Extension only tells the browser what to block; it never needs to see the data being sent or received.
We may update this Privacy Policy in the future if the Extension's functionality changes. If any changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the Extension's practices, please feel free to contact us at:
